Comerica Bank to Crown Detroit’s Biggest Fan Grand Prize Winner
Voting now open; Winner to receive prize package valued over $15,000

DETROIT, NOVEMBER 6, 2020 – Comerica Bank’s search for Detroit’s Biggest Fan, a year-long exclusive fan celebration engaging Detroit's passionate followers supporting the Tigers, Red Wings and Lions, culminates this month in a race to determine the grand prize winner. Voting launched today at 12 p.m. ET on DetroitsBiggestFan.com and continues until November 17 at 12 p.m. ET.

The winner will receive a grand prize package valued at more than $15,000, which includes a choice of season tickets to Tigers, Red Wings or Lions home games.

Participants have showcased their fandom over the past year and three finalists earned top team honors, including: Sharonda Barnes (Detroit Lions winner), Cassie Mastropietrol (Detroit Red Wings winner) and Joe Swierlink (Detroit Tigers winner). Barnes, Mastropietrol and Swierlink are now competing for the top overall prize.

SHARONDA BARNES (Flint, Mich.); Detroit Lions Winner

  • “I am Detroit’s Biggest Fan because no matter where I am or who I’m with they’ll know who I’m representing in sports,” said Barnes. “As a Michigan native, I will always root for Detroit and be a supporter of all teams. I am extremely proud to be named the Lions Biggest Fan! My family and I have been to several games, all in which include the Detroit Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers. We love going to the games to see the teams in live action but most of all to show our support. I can’t wait to attend games in-person again, and I am excited to see what the new season brings for my Detroit teams.”

CASSIE MASTROPIETROL (Allen Park, Mich.); Detroit Red Wings Winner

  • “I am Detroit’s Biggest Fan,” said Mastropietrol. “When not at work, you can find me at a Tigers or Red Wings game whether rain, shine or snowstorm. When planning our wedding we decided the theme would be Detroit Hockey! My husband proposed on the steps of Joe Louis Arena before going to our first game at LCA so having our wedding this theme only made sense. Now, every year we make sure to be at opening night even if that means postponing our honeymoon like we did this season.”

JOE SWIERLIK (Allen Park, Mich.); Detroit Tigers Winner

  • “Baseball is in my blood,” said Swierlik. “My grandfather and my dad taught me a few things about the greatest game ever. The Detroit Tigers represent not only history, tradition, dreams, and a love for the game, but they represent so much more than just all things baseball. Our team reflects the tenacity, hard work, and drive that the city of Detroit exhibits time and time again!”

Throughout the Detroit’s Biggest Fan contest, fans won prizes by telling their story on why they are Detroit's biggest fan. In addition to the grand prize, fans also earned bi-weekly and team-specific prizes.

Individuals can vote for the finalists once per day, every day during the 12-day voting window. The winner will be announced Nov. 19. Visit DetroitsBiggestFan.com to learn more.
