Comerica Bank Joins City of San Jose’s Operation Prom Dress
Comerica Banking Centers in the South Bay to serve as drop-off locations for prom dresses

San Jose, California/March 9, 2011 – San Jose Vice Mayor Madison Nguyen is leading Operation Prom Dress for the third year in a row and Comerica Bank is joining the effort by offering ten banking centers as drop-off locations.

“Operation Prom Dress is a great way to help high school girls find the perfect prom dress at no cost,” said Julius Chiang, Regional Manager for Comerica’s Retail Division. “We want to get the word out in the communities we serve that people can drop off their new or gently worn dresses at our banking centers through April 4.”

Nguyen and her staff are working to collect at least 1,000 dresses this year that would be appropriate for high school students to wear to their proms this spring. In 2010, they collected 800 dresses. Students who want to take home a dress don’t have to attend a San Jose school, which is why Comerica is collecting dresses at banking centers in cities outside of San Jose.

“We are very pleased Comerica Bank is joining our effort,” said Nguyen. “Comerica staff members can promote Operation Prom Dress to their customers and that will help bring in more dresses for the girls to choose from.”
