DETROIT/February 24, 2011 - As part of an ongoing commitment to communities in Michigan, Comerica Bank today announced its contribution of more than $2.1 million to Michigan nonprofit organizations during the second half of 2010.

“Our 2010 contribution totals reflect Comerica’s dedication to helping revitalize the state of Michigan and its communities,” said Thomas D. Ogden, president, Comerica Bank-Michigan. “We’re looking forward to building upon our impact and continuing to make a difference in the communities we serve and beyond in 2011.”

Through Comerica Bank and the Comerica Charitable Foundation, Comerica gives to organizations and programs  that support education, economic self sufficiency, neighborhood revitalization, health care access, diversity and inclusion, and civic and community programs.

During the last half of 2010, Comerica contributed $2.1 million and provided nearly 18,000 hours, or nearly $364,500 worth of employee volunteer labor hours to deserving organizations throughout the state. Combined totals of Comerica’s 2010 contributions and volunteer labor hours amounted to a more than $4.2 million statewide impact for the year. Highlights of Comerica’s Michigan community contributions in the second half of 2010 include:

·         Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion: Since 1996, Comerica has maintained a strong collaboration with the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion as part of the bank’s commitment to diversity. In the fourth quarter, Comerica provided $10,000 to support the “Youth Truth and Reconciliation” program to engage youth in learning about the history and impact of segregation in our local communities and encourage dialogue to support understanding and improve race relations.

·         Junior Achievement of Southeast Michigan:  As part of Comerica’s ongoing partnership with the Junior Achievement programs, the bank contributed $12,000 to support three initiatives for students in low performing schools including a math achievers program, a finance scholarship and a whole school partnership to cover programming costs. In addition, the contribution included a commitment from the Comerica Cares volunteer team.

·         National Day of Service: For the third consecutive year, Comerica Bank employees across the nation donated time and efforts in honor of the company’s National Day of Service on September 25, 2010.
