DALLAS/June 30, 2010 – Black Enterprise Magazine has named Comerica Bank as one the “40 Best Companies for Diversity.” Comerica received high marks from the publication for its strong commitment to supplier diversity, among other key areas measured.
“Earning recognition from Black Enterprise Magazine is particularly gratifying given the key categories examined,” said Linda Forte, Comerica Bank Senior Vice President of Business Affairs and the bank’s Chief Diversity Officer. “This honor is a tribute to our senior leadership and employees who make a commitment to diversity each and every day at Comerica.”
To select the 2010 companies recognized this year, Black Enterprise sent surveys to the nation’s top 1,000 businesses as well as to the 50 leading global companies with strong U.S. operations. The final scores, along with the results of reporting and research conducted by the editorial staff, were used to determine the “40 Best Companies for Diversity” and will be featured in the June issue of the magazine.
Comerica's success in developing a comprehensive approach to diversity has been recognized by a number of other leading organizations, in addition to Black Enterprise. The bank has earned more than 20 awards and honors for its diversity and inclusion commitment in the past four years, alone. For example, Comerica is among the DiversityInc “Top 50 Companies for Diversity,” and that magazine also placed Comerica on its “Top 10 Companies for Executive Women” list. For the second consecutive year, Hispanic Business magazine honored Comerica with the No. 1 slot on its “Supplier Top 25” list.
