National Diversity Honor: Comerica Bank Earns Spot on LATINA Style 50 Report

DALLAS/August 27, 2009 – Comerica’s commitment to providing career opportunities to Latinas has been recognized by LATINA Style Magazine, which ranks the Dallas-headquartered bank 23rd on the recently announced LATINA Style 50 Report.

LATINA Style annually identifies American corporations that are providing the best career opportunities for Latinas. The publication reports that more than 800 corporations were included in the 2009 search. The principal areas of evaluation included:
• Number of Latina executives;
• Mentoring programs;
• Latina board members;
• Educational opportunities;
• Alternative work policies;
• Dependent/child care support;
• Employee benefits;
• Women’s issues;
• Job retraining;
• Affinity groups; and
• Hispanic relations.

“Earning recognition from LATINA Style is particularly gratifying given the progressive categories measured,” said Linda Forte, Comerica Bank senior vice president of Business Affairs and the bank’s chief diversity officer. “It affirms our belief that we must do everything we can as an organization to support and foster corporate diversity.”

The top-50 companies will be honored on Feb. 4, 2010 during LATINA Style’s Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.

“It is an honor we can all take pride,'' said Monica Martinez, Comerica vice president of National Hispanic Business Affairs.

“A workplace which promotes the success of Latina colleagues is also more likely to work more closely with all the communities the bank serves—that level of community involvement and sensitivity are required as our nation’s demographics rapidly change.”
