The opening in December 2008 of a new banking center in Fremont, at 39008 Paseo Padre Parkway, capped a year that saw four new banking centers open in Alameda County in 12 months: in Alameda, Fremont, Oakland and San Leandro. A fifth Alameda County location is to open in late April, at 22595 Mission Boulevard in Hayward. Comerica Bank also will be opening its fourth Contra Costa County location in June, at 600 Main Street in Pleasanton.

"We continue to have confidence in the long-range outlook for business growth in the East Bay," said Erik Welch, senior vice president and regional retail manager for Comerica Bank. "By mid-year, we will be offering our wide range of financial services from banking centers all along the length of the two key commercial corridors in the East Bay - the 680 and 880 freeways - from Pleasanton to Walnut Creek and from Milpitas to Oakland.

"Comerica continues to invest in the regional economy because we are a healthy bank with a strong capital position, able to help build futures for communities, families and employers of all sizes," said Mike Fulton, President and CEO of Comerica Bank's Western Market, based in San Jose. "Our customers' deposits are insured, and we have money to lend."

The manager of the new Comerica banking center in Fremont is Rachel Hill, a 21-year banking veteran and former regional mortgage business development officer for Comerica. She can be reached at 510-744-0117.

The manager of the new Hayward banking center will be Danny Qutob, manager of the Comerica banking center in Foster City. The nine-year banking industry veteran is a former assistant manager of the Comerica office in Palo Alto. Comerica also announced that the manager for the new Pleasanton office will be Josh Garrison.

Comerica, whose predecessor bank was founded in Michigan in 1849, offers complete checking and FDIC-insured deposit accounts, financial planning expertise, on-the-job banking, cash management and other business services, plus convenient Saturday hours at most locations.
