New offices have opened in Millbrae, serving San Mateo County; in Sherman Oaks, serving the San Fernando Valley; and in Century City, serving western Los Angeles County. Bankers specializing in financial services for small businesses also have been added to offices in Costa Mesa (Orange County), San Diego, San Jose and Santa Cruz.

The announcement is the latest move in Comerica Bank's expansion of banking services in its Western Market. Since 2004, Comerica Bank has added 34 banking centers in California and four in greater Phoenix, Arizona. The bank plans to open eight new banking centers in California and three new banking centers in Arizona by the end of 2007.

In 2007, the bank has hired eight new bankers in small business offices in seven California cities and also has added to its Small Business Administration Lending division. Peggy Bradshaw, national director of Small Business Banking, said that by the end of 2008, Comerica will have doubled its small-business banking staff nationally - in California, Arizona and Texas - in about two years.

"We build new banking centers where there are good concentrations of small businesses," said Peggy Bradshaw, Comerica's national director of Small Business Banking, based in San Jose. "Small businesses are a leading source for job growth, and our new small business offices are centrally located to better serve the needs of growing small businesses in California's metropolitan markets."

The new Comerica Bank banking centers are offering free business checking accounts and free checking for employees at companies with on-the-job banking. Comerica Bank offers a full range of services for small businesses and small business owners, including business loans, SBA loans, on-the-job banking, private banking, treasury management and other financial services.
