Comerica Bank, Comerica Charitable Foundation Give More Than $3 Million during Winter Grant Season

DETROIT, April 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comerica announced today that Comerica Bank and the Comerica Charitable Foundation awarded 338 grants in Michigan during Comerica's Winter Grant Season totaling nearly $3.2 million.

During its Winter Grant Season, beginning Jan. 2, the Comerica Charitable Foundation made 151 grants totaling nearly $2 million. Comerica's corporate giving program sponsored an additional 187 programs and events, totaling more than $1.2 million.

  Included among the grants awarded this quarter were:

   -- $50,000 to the Samaritan Center dental clinic in Detroit;

   -- $25,000 to Focus: HOPE, in support of the "Success Scholarship"
      program;

   -- $10,000 to Motor City Blight Busters, Inc.;

   -- $10,000 to the Girl Scouts of Metropolitan Detroit, in support of
      financial literacy

In Michigan, the Comerica Charitable Foundation awards grants at the end of four grant seasons throughout the year with a primary focus on programs supporting economic self-sufficiency for low and moderate income individuals and families; neighborhood revitalization; education; access to health care; and programs supporting diversity and inclusion.
