The School of Business Administration received a gift of $50,000 from the Comerica Charitable Foundation in support of Oakland University's Entrepreneurship Institute. The gift is the third of a five-year, $250,000 commitment made by the Charitable Foundation to the Institute.

The Entrepreneurship Institute in Oakland University's School of Business Administration was launched in 2001 to provide entrepreneurship education to economically disadvantaged teens. Since then, the programming has served more than 7,000 students in the Pontiac, Oak Park and Detroit school systems.

"I'm proud to say that I'm a graduate of the 2004 Entrepreneurship Summer Camp," said Krystal Ramirez, an Oakland University sophomore from Pontiac. "My experience at camp is the main reason I made the decision to go to college and to study business; the matching scholarship support was a great bonus."

Comerica Bank also gave $25,000 to Oakland University's Applied Technology in Business program. Students from this program receive work experience with Comerica's Technology team at the bank's Auburn Hills Operations Center.

"We are delighted to support two outstanding programs at Oakland University," said Caroline Chambers, Comerica Bank's corporate contributions manager and president of the Comerica Charitable Foundation. "These students are being empowered to excel in the workplace and create jobs, which is the best possible news for our future economy."

Funded completely by Comerica Incorporated, the Comerica Charitable Foundation was established in November 1997 as a non-profit corporation with the sole purpose of funding charitable causes. Since its inception, the Comerica Charitable Foundation has given more than $64 million in charitable gifts nationwide.

Comerica Bank is a subsidiary of Comerica Incorporated (NYSE: CMA), a financial services company headquartered in Detroit. Comerica Bank locations can be found in Michigan, California, Texas, Arizona and Florida, with select businesses operating in several other states, Canada and Mexico.
