Comerica’s April Young Named Hottest Visionary by Northern Virginia Technology Council

RESTON, Va./June 17, 2002 - Comerica (NYSE: CMA), a leading financial services company, announced today that April Young, senior vice president and managing director of its Mid-Atlantic Technology and Life Sciences Division, is the recipient of this year's Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Hottest Visionary Award. Young was honored at the Hot Ticket Awards on June 12.

The Hottest Visionary Award "goes to an individual who consistently cuts through the clutter to clearly envision where we stand as a business community right now and where we're headed in the next several months or years. He or she helps us navigate the road ahead of us to avoid pitfalls, and to leverage any windfalls to our best advantage. She or he not only has big picture vision, but also an inspirational way of communicating that vision to others, thereby prompting positive, results-oriented action."

"We at Comerica have always known that April possesses great visionary acuity, but it is certainly rewarding to see others in the community acknowledging her abilities," said Susan Gill, president of Comerica's Technology and Life Sciences Division, who was present to see Young accept her award.

"I have had the pleasure of knowing April for years, and she certainly is very deserving of the Hottest Visionary Award," said Bobbie Kilberg, NVTC president. "April is well-respected in the Mid-Atlantic area and beyond as someone who is exceptionally knowledgeable about the local financial scene."
