James E. Lake Named Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Comerica

DETROIT/June 20, 2003 - Comerica Incorporated (NYSE: CMA) announced today that James E. Lake has been named senior vice president, Human Resources and Corporate Learning. He will report to Ralph W. Babb Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer. Lake joins Comerica’s Management Policy Committee and Management Council.

Lake is responsible for all aspects of Comerica’s Human Resources, including Strategic Staffing, Benefits, Strategic Initiatives, Compensation, Learning and Employee Relations, in all of its markets.

Lake joined Comerica’s Human Resources Department in 1980. Most recently, he served as first vice president, Compensation.

Lake has a bachelor of arts degree from University of Michigan and a juris doctor from Detroit College of Law.
