Comerica Names Brad Steele Regional Manager of Greater D.C. Technology Division Office

Greater Washington, D.C. office of its Technology and Life Sciences Division (TLSD). Steele, who also has retained his vice president title, reports to April Young, who continues to lead the Mid-Atlantic TLSD, which has offices in Durham, NC and Atlanta as well as Reston, and banks many of the region’s premier technology companies, including InPhonic, RIPtech, Digital Paper, sentitO Networks and Zagros Networks.

"Brad’s extensive local experience in the financial community and his ability to work well with both clients and colleagues have earned him the responsibility of managing our efforts in the Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. markets," Young said.

Steele joined Comerica in 1998. In addition to serving as a member of the local lending team for four years, he worked with the Special Assets Division, assisting in credit restructurings and workouts in the Mid-Atlantic region. Previously, he specialized in small business lending, cash management and investment counsel at Riggs Bank in Washington, D.C., and held various positions in small business and retail banking with Citizens Bank and Norwest. Steele has an MBA from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Gettysburg College.

"The economic cycle we’ve experienced over the past year has certainly created some interesting challenges for our business, but we are as committed as we have ever been to serving the financial needs of venture-backed technology and life sciences companies," Steele said. "At Comerica, we have the resources and desire to work with both early- and late-stage firms, and I am pleased to have an expanded role in leading the team focused on growing our portfolio in the greater D.C. area."
