Comerica and National Association of Women Business Owners Present Small Business Breakfast

DETROIT/May 9, 2002 - Comerica and the Greater Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) will host a free breakfast program on Friday, May 17 from 8:30 to 10 a.m., at Comerica’s Southfield Tower, located on Telegraph Road, just north of 12 Mile Road.

The program's featured speaker is Mort Crim, former WDIV-TV news anchor and creator and voice of the award-winning, nationally syndicated radio series, Second Thoughts, and five-minute, live daily newscast, Mort Crim News You Care About. He’ll discuss his personal experiences with leaving corporate America and the many challenges he faced becoming a small business owner, including determining his niche, where to look for leads and how to grow his business quickly while maintaining quality customer satisfaction levels.

"We’re proud to be able to provide an opportunity for women business owners to learn about making the transition from the corporate environment to owning a business from a successful business leader, like Mort Crim," says Tari Schwartz, vice president of Comerica’s Southeast Michigan Small Business Financial Center and manager of Comerica’s Women Business Enterprise Initiative. "Our partnership with NAWBO helps us create programs specifically designed for helping women business owners succeed."

This program is part of a series of Power Breakfast seminars offered by Comerica’s Women Business Enterprise Initiative and the Greater Detroit Chapter of NAWBO. Comerica’s Women Business Enterprise Initiative was developed to help the bank better meet the needs of women entrepreneurs by providing them business opportunities.
