Comerica’s Nathaniel Bennett Named To The 2018 Black Enterprise’s Top Executives In Corporate Diversity List

Comerica’s Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisitions Nathaniel Bennett was named to 2018 Black Enterprise’s Top Executives in Corporate Diversity List.

The list highlights the most influential, high-ranking executives that lead diversity hiring at the nation’s largest companies. Bennett’s inclusion is based on the criteria of driving innovation and productivity, while ensuring diversity encompasses the workforce, leadership, corporate governance and suppliers.

“Nathan is a leader in championing Comerica’s diversity initiatives and ensuring its workforce reflects the demographics of the markets and customers we serve,” said Megan D. Burkhart, Comerica’s chief human resources officer. “Diversity is one of our core values, and his work directly impacts that mission through sourcing and recruitment of diverse candidates, as well as fostering diversity initiatives throughout the bank to help create an inclusive environment.”

Bennett overseas several programs that promote diversity at Comerica. About 88 percent of colleagues are enrolled in Comerica’s Masters of Diversity Awareness Program which offers access to hundreds of educational opportunities. There are 17 active employee resource groups across the bank’s markets, including ethnic, LGBTQ, gender, military and young professionals. Comerica also has an Executive Diversity Council which governs best practice for the company and senior leaders.

In a congratulatory letter, Derek T. Dingle, senior vice president and chief content officer of Black Enterprise said Nathan’s, “stellar accomplishments and powerful example will inspire legions of executives in their pursuit of professional excellence, while seeking to use their positions to make a tangible difference.”

This is one of several diversity-related awards that Comerica has received to date in 2018. Others include:

  • No. 10 ranking on the National Diversity Council’s list of Texas top 25 companies for diversity and inclusion.
  • No. 4 ranking on the DiversityInc’s top regional companies.
  • Named to Black EOE Journal’s Best of The Best list, recognizing companies for their efforts in diversity.
  • Perfect rating in the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index and designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
