Muneera S. Carr is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Comerica Incorporated. She is a member of Comerica’s Management Executive Committee.
As Chief Financial Officer, Carr has direct management of Finance, overseeing Accounting, Business Finance, Investor Relations, Treasury, Economics, Real Estate and Purchasing with responsibility for all financial reporting. She was named to her current position in January 2018. Carr joined Comerica in February 2010. She most recently served as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller.
Prior to joining Comerica, Carr was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 2007 through 2009. Carr has performed the accounting policy function at major banks such as SunTrust and Bank of America. She also spent nine years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the last two of which were as a Senior Manager in its National Office.
Carr graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1996.
Carr is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas. She is a former member of the Financial Reporting Executive Committee, a senior technical committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Carr is also a former member of the Accounting Committee of the American Bankers Association, which represents the banking industry on policy issues related to accounting and auditing.
In 2016, Carr was the Honoree for the Dallas Business Journal’s “Women in Business” award.
