Curtis C. Farmer

President, Comerica Incorporated and Comerica Bank

Curtis C. Farmer is President of Comerica Incorporated and Comerica Bank. He is a member of Comerica's Management Executive Committee.

As President, Farmer oversees the Business Bank, Retail Bank and Wealth Management.

The Business Bank provides companies of all sizes with an array of credit and non-credit financial products and services. Farmer leads over 20 lines of business that provide comprehensive financial solutions to support the growth, cash, risk and wealth needs of Comerica’s commercial clients. These businesses include Middle Market Banking and US Banking in addition to specialized businesses with expertise in specific industries or focus areas including Energy, Technology & Life Sciences, Entertainment, Environmental Services, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Services, Financial Institutions, Municipalities, National Card Services, Captive Insurance, Mortgage Banker Finance, National Dealer Services, International Finance, International Trade Finance, and Healthcare & Education.  Further, he leads teams that offer solutions to customers across Comerica Bank including Corporate Finance, Treasury Management Services, and Leasing.

The Retail Bank and Wealth Management segments serve consumers, small businesses, institutional clients and the wealth market. Farmer's responsibility for the Retail Bank includes Comerica's 457 banking centers (as of 12/31/16), as well as Corporate Marketing and Communications, and Corporate Quality Process.

Farmer joined Comerica as executive vice president of Wealth Management on Oct. 20, 2008, from Wachovia Corporation of Charlotte, N.C., where he had most recently spent three years as executive vice president and Wealth Management director of the Wealth Management segment. On August 12, 2010, Comerica announced it was combining the Retail Bank and Wealth Management leadership into one organization, led by Farmer. He was named Vice Chairman of Comerica's Retail Bank and Wealth Management on April 29, 2011. Farmer was named President on April 29, 2015, at which time he added the Business Bank to his areas of responsibility.

During his 23 years with Wachovia, he held a variety of positions of increasing scope and responsibility, including senior vice president and Managing Executive of Wachovia Trust Company in Charlotte, NC; senior vice president and Wealth Management director in Philadelphia, Pa.; and senior vice President and Managing Executive of Marketing and Strategic Planning in Charlotte, NC.

Farmer earned a bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University, where he also earned his Masters in Business Administration.

Farmer's board affiliations include Wake Forest University and the Circle 10 Council of the Boys Scouts of America.
