Full-service West Valley office, Comerica's fourth in Phoenix for 2008, follows Dec. 19 opening of banking center in Tempe
PHOENIX, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The opening of a new Comerica Bank banking center in Avondale capped another year of growth for the bank in Maricopa County. The new office at 10115 W. McDowell Road is Comerica's second Arizona banking center this month, the fourth in 2008, and the 12th Comerica banking center in Maricopa County.

The Dallas-based bank, one of the 20th largest banks in the U.S., opened its first Tempe office on Dec. 19, at Mill Avenue and 5th Street.
"We have confidence in the long-range outlook for the Phoenix-area economy," said Meredith Russell, president of Comerica Bank operations in Arizona. "We expect to continue a similar pace of growth of new banking centers in Maricopa County in 2009, as we help build futures for communities, families and employers of all sizes."
Earlier this year, Comerica Bank opened its third banking center in Mesa, Arizona. Comerica opened a new banking center on Happy Valley Road and 21st Ave. in September.
Comerica, whose predecessor bank was founded in Michigan in 1849, offers complete checking and FDIC-insured deposit accounts, financial planning expertise, on-the-job banking and other business services, and convenient Saturday hours at its new Arizona locations. The bank and its managers have built community ties with local chambers of commerce, the Arizona Small Business Association, Junior Achievement, Arizona State University and the Phoenix Coyotes.

Comerica has three banking centers in Mesa, three in Phoenix and three in Scottsdale. The Avondale banking center is the 108th for Comerica in its Western Market, where the bank opened four banking centers in Arizona and 14 in California in 2008.
