Small Businesses Learn Fundamentals of Exporting at Comerica Seminar

DETROIT/April 18, 2005 - Comerica Bank will host a small business workshop on the fundamentals of exporting on Thursday, April 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the BPS Corporate Training Center, located at 31301 Evergreen Road in Beverly Hills, Mich. A pre-workshop continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m.

The seminar is part of a comprehensive series of workshops sponsored by Comerica that are designed to help small business owners succeed.

Sara Coulter, an international trade specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce, and Michele Hurst-Burton, an assistant vice president in Comerica’s International Trade Department, will help business owners understand the components of an international transaction and how to mitigate risk; provide insight into international payment methods and export financing options; and discuss government-sponsored programs available to assist U.S. exporters.

Cost for the workshop is $50 for Comerica customers and $75 for non-Comerica customers and $25 for each additional participant from the same company. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 1-800-829-5214 or by visiting www.comerica.com and clicking on "Small Business Workshops."
