Comerica Bank Announces Support for “Batkid Begins” Documentary Film
Bank to provide matching funds up to $10,000 for donations until August 12
Batkid Begins - The Documentary Film

San Jose, Calif./Aug. 6, 2014 – Comerica Bank is supporting the film, “Batkid Begins” by offering to match the donations provided through the crowdfunding website, Indiegogo.  The campaign is raising funds to bring the story of how 5-year old Miles Scott, a leukemia survivor saved “Gotham” as part of his Make-A-Wish dream wish last fall. Comerica will be matching donations dollar for dollar up to $10,000 until next Tuesday, August 12.

“We watched the outpouring of support in San Francisco where 25,000 people gathered to cheer on Miles as Batkid for the day,” said Comerica’s California Market President Judy Love. “Like everyone else, we found Miles’ story to be very heartwarming. The film will not only tell the story of that amazing day, but also bring greater awareness to the fantastic work done by Make-A-Wish Foundation.”

The proceeds from the film will go to Bay Area non-profits. Although much of the film is already shot, the funds raised will pay for music, animations, visual effects and other post production needs to get it ready for the big screen.

“We are thrilled to receive support from Comerica Bank,” said Batkid Begins Film Director Dana Nachman. “We are so thankful to Comerica for committing to match funds and to the hundreds of individuals who have already contributed.”
