HispanicBusiness has ranked Comerica Bank #1 among the "Top 25 Companies for Supplier Diversity" in 2013. The online publication, in its February 1, 2013 edition, noted that "The bank offers ongoing training programs to minority business enterprises (MBEs) interested in landing contracts with the financial institution" In addition, the publication "currently works with more than 140 diversity suppliers, including those owned by women and disabled persons."
The publication also noted that Comerica placed first in all three categories measured: Management Involvement in Supplier Diversity; Procurement from Minority Suppliers; and Outreach Efforts to Minority Suppliers.
Teresa LeFevre is vice president and manager of Supplier Diversity with Comerica. She told HispanicBusiness the bank offers "training programs throughout the year that introduce MBEs to economists, financial advisers and other experts who offer guidance on financial planning, strategic partnerships, IT logistics, “meaningful metrics” and manufacturing certification."
Comerica was ranked #2 in the publication's 2012 listing of the "Top 25 Companies for Supplier Diversity."
HispanicBusiness said it calculated the index by "examining data from the 2012 Diversity Elite survey, which was compiled by contacting the top Fortune 1,000 companies, American subsidiaries of Global 500 companies, and large U.S. companies both public and private."
